The directions below are much more direct and accurate than online directions. However, click here if you would like to SEARCH "start from" and "to Murray Grove". But it is definitely advisable to cross reference.

For GPS systems, the best street address to enter for Murray Grove is 431 US Highway 9. And noting that Church Lane is the official name of our entrance road is also very helpful.

From the Northwest (Northern Philadelphia, Trenton, Princeton):

  1. Go East on I-195 to the Garden State Parkway.
  2. Take the Garden State Parkway South.
  3. Proceed South down the Garden State Parkway to Exit 74.
  4. Turn right on Lacey Road.
  5. At the third light, turn left on Manchester Avenue, using the jug handle on the right before the intersection.
  6. At the first light, turn right on Haines Street.
  7. At the first light, turn right onto Rte. 9.
  8. About 150 yards further, at Church Lane, turn left just in front of the Murray Grove sign.
  9. Come on down to the Welcome Center!

From the North (New York City, Newark):

  1. Proceed South down the Garden State Parkway to Exit 74.
  2. Turn right on Lacey Road.
  3. At the third light, turn left on Manchester Avenue, using the jug handle on the right before the intersection.
  4. At the first light, turn right on Haines Street.
  5. At the first light, turn right onto Rte. 9.
  6. About 150 yards further, at Church Lane, turn left just in front of the Murray Grove sign.
  7. Come on down to the Welcome Center!

Note: If the traffic is heavy on the Garden State Parkway,

a short-cut that may help is:

  1. Take Exit 80 off the Garden State Parkway. Stay in the left-hand lane. Turn left onto Double Trouble Road.
  2. Continue about three miles, to the T instersection. Turn left onto Pinewald Keswick Road.
  3. Continue on Pinewald Keswick Road, crossing under the Garden State Parkway. (Pinewald Keswick Road changes its name to Forest Hills Parkway and then again to Veterans Boulevard.)
  4. At the second light past the Parkway, turn right on Western Boulevard.
  5. Continue about three miles. (Western Boulevard changes its name to Dean Street and then again to Haines Road.)
  6. At the second light, turn right onto Rte. 9.
  7. About 150 yards further, at Church Lane, turn left just in front of the Murray Grove sign.
  8. Come on down to the Welcome Center!

From the South (Atlantic City):

  1. Proceed North up the Garden State Parkway to Exit 74.
  2. Turn right on Lacey Road at the light.
  3. At the second light after you're on Lacey Road, turn left on Manchester Avenue, using the jug handle on the right before the intersection.
  4. At the first light, turn right on Haines Street.
  5. At the first light, turn right onto Rte. 9.
  6. About 150 yards further, at Church Lane, turn left just in front of the Murray Grove sign.
  7. Come on down to the Welcome Center!

From the South (DE, MD, VA, D.C.):

  1. From the Delaware Memorial Bridge, proceed North up I-295 to Exit 34A.
  2. From Exit 34A on I-295, take Highway 70 East.
  3. Continuing East on 70, you’ll pass through three large traffic circles: at Rte 73 (about three miles past I-295); at Rte 206 (after approximately 10 miles); and at Rte 72 (about 8 miles further).
  4. When you come to the four-way traffic light at Rte 539, (approximately 12 miles beyond the last traffic circle), turn right.
  5. Follow the signs for Rte 530 through the small town of Whiting.
  6. Turn right on Lacey Road, the second light past downtown Whiting.
  7. Continue about ten miles, until you cross over the Garden State Parkway.
  8. At the third light past the Parkway, turn left on Manchester Avenue, using the jug handle on the right before the intersection.
  9. At the first light, turn right on Haines Street.
  10. At the first light, turn right onto Rte. 9.
  11. About 150 yards further, at Church Lane, turn left just in front of the Murray Grove sign.
  12. Come on down to the Welcome Center!

From the West (Philadelphia, Camden):

  1. From Exit 34A on I-295, or via Route 30 from the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, take Highway 70 East.
  2. Continuing East on 70, you’ll pass through three large traffic circles: at Rte 73 (about three miles past I-295); at Rte 206 (after approximately 10 miles); and at Rte 72 (about 8 miles further).
  3. When you come to the four-way traffic light at Rte 539, (approximately 12 miles beyond the last traffic circle), turn right.

By Public Transportation:

From New York City

By bus: From the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, take NJ Transit Rt. 319 (express to Atlantic City: approx. 95 min.) or Rt. 137 (to Toms River: approx. 2 hrs.) to the Dover Township Bus Terminal in Toms River, NJ . Transfer to the local Rt. 559 (going to Atlantic City: approx. 15 min.). Ask the driver to let you off in front of Murray Grove. If you miss it, get off at the Lacey Mall and walk back to Murray Grove. It's on the east side of the highway, across the street from and halfway between the McDonald's and A's Hardware.

From Newark

By bus: From Penn Station in Newark, or any of the three terminals at the Newark International Airport, take Rt. 67 to Toms River (approx. 2 hrs. 45 min.) to the Dover Township Bus Terminal in Toms River, NJ. There is also an airport shuttle service, Olympic Airporter (olympic-limo.com), that will take you from Newark International Airport to the Dover Township Bus Terminal. Transfer there to the local Rt. 559 (to Atlantic City: approx. 15 min.). Ask the driver to let you off in front of Murray Grove. If you miss it, get off at the Lacey Mall and walk back to Murray Grove. It's on the east side of the highway, across the street from and halfway between the McDonald's and A's Hardware.

From Atlantic City

By bus: From the Atlantic City Bus Terminal, take NJ Transit Rt. 559 in the direction of Lakewood. It takes approximately 90 minutes to get to Lanoka Harbor. Ask the driver to let you off in front of Murray Grove. If you miss it, get off at the A's Hardware and walk back to Murray Grove. It's on the east side of the highway, across the street from and halfway between A's and the McDonald's.

From Philadelphia

By bus: From the Greyhound Bus Terminal, take Rt. 317 in the direction of Asbury Park to the New Jersey Transit Bus Terminal in Lakewood (approximately 2 hours) Transfer to the local Rt. 559 in the direction of Atlantic City. It takes approximately 35 minutes to get to Lanoka Harbor. Ask the driver to let you off in front of Murray Grove. If you miss it, get off at the Lacey Mall and walk back to Murray Grove. It's on the east side of the highway, across the street from and halfway between the McDonald's and A's Hardware.

By train and bus: From the 30th Street Station, take the Atlantic City Line to the end (approximately 1 hour 45 minutes) Make your way to the New Jersey Transit Atlantic City Bus Terminal, in the same area as the train depot. Take the local Rt. 559 in the direction of Lakewood. It takes approximately 90 minutes to get to Lanoka Harbor. Ask the driver to let you off in front of Murray Grove. If you miss it, get off at the A's Hardware and walk back to Murray Grove. It's on the east side of the highway, across the street from and halfway between A's and the McDonald's.
