Grovers Program
Nature
The Grovers Program involves members of Unitarian Universalist congregations who act as
liaisons between Murray Grove and their congregations, and are vital contributors to Murray Groves
activities and programs and to the long-term fulfillment of the Murray Grove Associations Ends.
Purpose
Grovers:
- keep members of their congregations informed of events and developments at Murray Grove
- encourage their congregations and their subgroups to consider coming on retreat at Murray Grove
- volunteer their time at Murray Grove in any of a wide variety of possible activities
- possibly participate actively in some or all of the discussion about, planning for and realization of
the Ends of the Murray Grove Association
- keep Murray Grove informed of people in their congregations and beyond who might be interested in participating in the fulfillment of the Murray Grove Associations Ends
- get their congregations and communities involved in the ongoing devolution of Murray Groves Ends.
Workings of the Program
Close regular contact is maintained between each Grover and the Murray Grover's liaison to staff.
The Grovers are:
- supplied with up-to-date information about Murray Grove events and activities
- requested to set up permanent exclusive Murray Grove display space at their congregations
Sunday worship where members can come to expect posters, displays, information about Murray Grove
and its events and activities
- requested to establish and cultivate informal and/or formal contacts with any and all of the various committees, sub-groups and interest groups in their congregations, and the congregation as a whole, encouraging them to consider regular retreats as an integral part of the spiritual and social activist lives of their communities
Guided in:
- finding ways to keep their congregations and communities abreast of developments at Murray Grove, especially those involving helping to achieve the Murray Grove Associations Ends
- finding and cultivating individuals and/or groups in their congregations and communities who might be interested in joining in one or more of the many aspects of meeting those Ends
- encouraged to consider volunteering at Murray Grove, including work possible weekends and individually helping out with the staffing requirements at Murray Grove
If you or someone in your congregation is interested in the program, please contact us by email by clicking the envelope and well take it from there!
