Are your kids ready for an in-person summer event that is currently approved by the CDC and COA guidelines. Please come join our signature summer youth camp, Camping in the Grove, which we are planning for in a six day-five night, in-person experience for rising 4th -7th graders.

Camping in the Grove is five days of fun-filled summer adventure for rising 4th through 7th graders at Murray Grove Retreat and Renewal Center. Camp will take place August 1st- 6th, 2021. If you love games, art, swimming, nature and bonfires, our old-fashioned camp experience on this historical Universalist site is just for you.

Daily Itinerary

Morning and afternoon activities will include swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, playing sports, drama, games, UU identity workshops, a service project and more! Morning worship, led by Rev. Carol Haag, Minister of Religious Education, will be held outside under the trees as the children connect more deeply to our community, our UU religion, nature, and their own spiritual path. Evening activities will include a talent show, a game night, campfires complete with music, s’mores, sing-alongs and more!

Camp Theme

The theme for Camping in the Grove 2021 is “Growth and Change”. This year marks the 10th anniversary of our signature program “Camping In the Grove.” Through our fun camp activities and annual service project, we will enjoy the positive power of camping at Murray Grove. Our program will embody the UU  spirit of working together, playing together, growing and changing together as we delve deeply into our individual and collective selves.

Food

Camp includes three full balanced meals a day and healthy snacks in-between. We are happy to work with any family that has special dietary needs.

Who’s Invited

Children entering fourth through seventh grade in August 2021 are welcome to attend. At this time we are requiring all campers to have a negative PCR test within 7 days of the first day of camp.

Cost 

Camping in the Grove is $650 and open to all youth (rising 4th through 7th graders).

Staff

We’re delighted to welcome our experienced Camp Co-Directors; Josh Reed, Alexandra Landau, and Max Solomon-Fry.  Many of our dedicated counselors are returning to join us this year!

Registration 

The registration deadline is June 15 if you want to guarantee your child a slot. Capacity may be limited due to state and/or federal guidelines and protocols. We will create a waiting list after slots are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. After we receive your registration we will send you an invoice which can be paid online or with a check. $100 deposit must be made to secure your child’s seat by June 15
