Virtual Women’s Retreat

The Annual Women’s Retreat at Murray Grove will be November 6-8, 2020.  The leaders will be Rev. Craig Hirshberg, whom you know and love, and Dr. Carol Penn, new to many of us.  Both have extensive experience leading retreats.

The theme will be Balance – We are all dealing with Hard Stuff right now, diving into it.  This retreat will offer some tools to help you manage your life.  The weekend will follow the November election by 3 days – regardless of the outcome we will be exhausted.  We will all need to find grounding, to return to home base, to make time for retreat and renewal.

Let’s see if we can find Balance between caring for ourselves and saving the world.

Weekend Details:

Concern about the continued risk of COVID 19 dictates that we must connect virtually. We imagine 5 short sessions spread over the 3 days.   Some materials will be recorded so registrants can revisit at their convenience. Here is how the weekend is shaping up:

  • We will gather on Friday evening at 7:30 to meet one another, connect and explore the strengths that help to keep our lives balanced.
  • We will spend Saturday morning 10-12 exploring The Mindful Genogram: The Examination of Ancestral Bias or “Where did that thought come from?” led by Drs. Carol Penn and Kathy Farah. Participants will be guided in mindful examination of generational family history to identify patterns of racism.
  • Saturday afternoon 1-3 women’s retreat current plan will offer opportunities to create a paper labyrinth, to learn and practice QiGong and experience a guided meditation on balance.
  • Saturday evening 7:30 we’ll be treated to Carol Simon Levin’s performance: Reclaiming Our Voice: NJ’s Role in the Fight for Woman Suffrage. We’ll be able to consider some common questions such as “how the suffragettes felt in 1918 compared with us now?”
  • And then around 9:30 some informal breakout time: games, singing, chat – continuing the connections made in the past 24 hours.
  • We will conclude on Sunday morning 10am with blessings and music and balance in all its challenges and beauty.

Cost

The cost for the weekend will be $99 per person.
